Carry bikes your customers will ride for years.

MotiveTrail E-Bikes is building a network of independent bike shops, touring outfitters and cargo-bike specialists. This page explains who we look for, what we offer and how to start.

I. Who we look for

The best place to buy a touring or cargo e-bike is a shop where someone will set the saddle height, load the panniers for you and suggest a first ride that ends at a decent café. We want partners who already work this way — or would like to.

  • Independent bike shops with a workshop and the space to offer test rides.
  • Touring outfitters and bike-holiday operators who rent, guide or sell.
  • Cargo-bike specialists serving families, trades and local deliveries.
  • Outdoor retailers with a reliable servicing partner close by.

Size matters less than attitude. A two-person shop that knows every bridleway in the county is exactly who we want to talk to.

II. What partners receive

01

A demo fleet before you order

Ride the bikes, lend them to regulars, take them on your own weekend loop. Decide afterwards.

02

Workshop training

A practical session for your mechanics on our frames, drive systems and battery care — at your shop or online.

03

A direct line

Technical, warranty and ordering questions go to one inbox and are answered by people, not scripts.

04

Marketing that sounds like you

Photography, ride-route write-ups and in-store print you can adapt, plus a listing in our dealer finder.

05

Spares that actually arrive

Common wear parts held in stock and shipped to your workshop, so a customer's tour isn't cancelled by a missing bolt.

06

Sensible territory

We grow slowly and avoid crowding dealers into the same postcode.

III. Draft dealer terms

The outline below shows the shape of our terms. Every figure is a placeholder and will be confirmed in a written dealer agreement.

IV. How to apply

Send a short email to sales@motivetrailbike.com with the subject line “Dealer application”. A few lines is plenty:

  • Your shop name, town and website or social page.
  • Whether you have a workshop on site, and roughly how many mechanics.
  • The brands you currently stock.
  • Why touring or cargo riders find their way to you.

We reply to every application within X working days[placeholder], and suggest a call if the fit looks right.

V. Questions dealers ask

Do I need to be an existing bike shop to apply?

Not necessarily. We work best with businesses that can offer test rides, a basic fitting and first-line servicing. That includes bike shops, touring and holiday outfitters, cargo-bike specialists and some outdoor retailers with a workshop partner nearby.

Is there a minimum opening order?

There will be a modest opening order so that customers can see and ride the range. The exact figure is still being finalised and is shown on this page as placeholder copy until it is confirmed.

Can I try the bikes before committing to stock?

Yes. Approved applicants can request a short-term demo fleet so staff and customers can ride the touring and cargo models before any stock order is placed.

Do you offer exclusive territories?

We aim to avoid placing dealers on top of each other. Territory arrangements are discussed case by case, based on your catchment and how actively you plan to promote the range.

How are warranty claims handled?

Dealers diagnose and report the issue through a single email channel with photos. We ship replacement parts directly to your workshop, and our team is on hand for technical questions during the repair.

Will you also sell directly to consumers?

Our online shop exists mainly to help riders find a local dealer. Where we do sell online, we intend to route servicing and, where possible, fulfilment through nearby partners.
